This is an original open-air canvas by Kathleen Sienna Kelly painted on location at Pass-A-Grille beach, St. Petersburg FL (July 2024). The artist engages the elongated horizontal of the support to highlight the expanse of the Gulf Coast. The artist was drawn to the faint citrine reflection of clouds in turquoise waters. Other than the playful clouds on this pristine day the artist had the beach to herself.
This painting was started in open air using acrylics and finished in studio with oils. This original open-air canvas:
~ Captures the serene beauty of iconic Florida beaches.
~ Highlights soft citrine reflections of clouds in crystal-clear turquoise waters.
~ Features a stunning use of brushwork in the clouds with a textured effect on the canvas.
"This painting is a tribute to the simple pleasures of coastal life.
